The VAMPS™ 2.0 is a clinician-developed, non-standardized clinical observation and reasoning assessment created for occupational therapy practitioners who want a more organized way to examine visual performance, posture, postural control, balance, movement, bilateral coordination, motor planning, and sensorimotor patterns.
VAMPS™ helps you move beyond simply documenting whether an individual can or cannot complete an activity. Instead, it guides you to observe how the movement is performed, what strengths are available, what patterns emerge, what changes performance, and where those observations may matter in everyday function.
Use VAMPS™ to organize observations across areas such as supine flexion, prone extension, single-leg balance, hopping, heel-to-toe walking, dynamic movement, bilateral coordination, gait patterns, pursuits, saccades, convergence, and gaze stabilization.
The guiding principle is simple: A VAMPS™ observation identifies a pattern worth exploring. It does not establish the cause of that pattern.
